ASAP Lab
About
The Advanced Security in AI and CPS (ASAP) Laboratory is a research lab in the Department of Computer Science at the University of the Pacific. We investigate trending research topics surrounding IoT security, CPS security, Intelligent Cybersecurity, and Adversarial Machine Learning. Through this, we aim to develop intelligent and resilient security mechanisms to protect national critical infrastructures and the public against cyber attacks. Our current research focuses include the:
Security of Connected Vehicles and Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks
Protection of ML-enabled Perception Systems in Autonomous Vehicles from Adversarial Attacks
Security of Power Systems and Smart Grid Infrastructures from cyber attacks
Protection of ML algorithms in Smart Grid Infrastructures from Adversarial Attacks

Interested in Joining?
I am always looking for motivated graduate and undergraduate student research assistants (RAs) who are interested in pursuing cybersecurity research. RAs are responsible for the development of intelligent solutions that can provide security against next-generation cyber-attacks.
Competitive applicants for the lab will be reliable, motivated, willing to learn, and have good social skills. Preferences will be given to undergraduate and graduate students who have finished one semester of coursework here at Pacific, have strong GPAs, relevant experience, and are interested in working two or more semesters. RAs must be available to work for 5-7 hours per week plus weekly mandatory lab meetings.
If you are interested, please email me at tdas@pacific.edu and write "Interested in joining ASAP Lab" in the subject line.
